Here’s a Look into Our 2023 Anthology Schedule

January 4, 2023October 8, 2024 by Admin Team

As an Admin team, we had so much fun putting together our first three anthologies last year. In fact, we loved it so much that we’re doing FOUR this year! Woot! Take a look at our 2023 anthology schedule to get a jump start on your writing.

Of Us Anthologies

So far, we’ve published two anthologies in our Of Us series: The Order of Us and The History of Us. We have two more to add to the series in 2023. Submissions for both of these upcoming anthologies will be unpaid, and all proceeds will go to charities chosen by the Admin Team.

We’re looking for non-fiction short stories, essays, and poetry for both of these collections.

The Future of Us: For the Ones Who Come Next

The Future of Us is for and about our children and future generations of parents. You do not need to be solely a parent to submit. Grandparents, caregivers, aunts, uncles, adoptive or foster parents—anyone with children in their lives can contribute. And if you’re still waiting for your child, then you can submit, too! Check out our submission guidelines here.

  • Submissions Open: January 30
  • Submissions Close: March 12
  • Projected Release Date: April 12
  • Charity: Girls Write Now

The Magic of Us—Poetry Anthology

We’re super excited to offer a poetry anthology this year! Because we have so many beautiful poets in our group, we wanted one place to collect all your poems. We’re kinda game for anything—poetry is so subjective and cathartic that we don’t want to put too many parameters on submissions. That being said, check back later in the year for official submission guidelines.

  • Submissions Open: August 1
  • Submissions Close: August 31
  • Projected Release Date: October 2
  • Charity: TBD

Paid Fiction Anthologies

In addition to the Of Us anthologies, we’re offering two opportunities for paid work this year. These are themed anthologies, and submissions should adhere to the selected themes. While we may take some poetry, we’re mostly looking for short fiction. Submission guidelines, including payment details, will be posted at a later date.

Dystopian Anthology (Title TBD)

Several members of our Admin team are stoked about this one! We want your oppressed societies, your overbearing government, your revolutions and anarchy. Send it all—we cannot wait to read it!

  • Submissions Open: April 12
  • Submissions Close: May 31
  • Projected Release Date: July 24

Holiday Romance Anthology (Title TBD)

We HAD to give our last anthology of the year a holiday romance theme because duh! Nothing says the holidays like a winter-time romance. We’re still debating on the spice level, but we promise to be very clear with these guidelines.

  • Submissions Open: September 4
  • Submissions Close: October 16
  • Projected Release Date: November 24

Please send submission guidelines and where to submit. Is there a submission fee?

I guess responses for the “future of us” anthology have already gone out if it’s supposed to be released on 4/12?

Hi Rose! As all of us moms know, sometimes life happens and delays the best of intentions. This winter and spring, many of our admin members were affected by illness, death in the family, and new babies being born. Check the MWW facebook group to see Allie’s update on the Future of Us anthology <3 thank you for your patience!
